Rōnin - Light Roast

$16.00

A Rōnin in feudal Japan was a samurai without a master, embodying a spirit of independence and exceptional skill. This single-origin coffee from Costa Rica reflects the spirit of its namesake.

At the heart of this exceptional coffee is the Villa Sarchi varietal, grown at the Café Con Amor farm, renowned for its nutrient-rich volcanic soil. Surrounded by tropical mango, níspero, guayaba, and sweet plantain trees, the coffee absorbs the rich organic material from these fruits, enhancing its aroma and adding complexity to its flavor profile.

The coffee delivers a clean cup with a smooth honey sweetness, distinguished by its refined light roast process. The result is a coffee that's both vibrant and soothing, with a subtle fruitiness that makes each sip a discovery.

Our partnership with Café Con Amor extends beyond coffee. Together with owners Marianella Baez Jost, Jonathan Jost, and their dedicated team, we support the Farmers Project, an initiative dedicated to helping local Costa Rican farmers sell their coffee at fair prices. This project ensures that every purchase of Ronin coffee not only tastes good but also does good, supporting the welfare of local farmers, their families, and their communities.

Rōnin History:

The most notable Ronin is Miyamoto Musashi, who became renowned through stories of his unique double-bladed swordsmanship, undefeated record in his 61 duels, and authored The Book of 5 rings, which analyzes martial arts as a whole, and the process of struggle and mastery over conflict that underlies every level of human interaction.
